GALA Concert

IN Series' Women Composers Festival opens with a concert celebrating the richness of imagination, ingenuity and brilliance in the music by women composers, those of today and of yesterday. The program combines vocal music by living composers of multiple generations including leading local composers Jessica Krash and Lori Laitman, Mexico's Gabriela Ortiz and New York's Kate Soper, first women composer to win the Pulitzer Price Carolyn Shaw and polyglot Emily Lau. This music is vibrantly contextualized and made connective with songs of Louise Thalma, Chiara Margherita Cozzolani and Hildegard von Bingen.
