Situated in the heart of downtown Washington, DC and overlooking the majestic Potomac River, the National Mall and Memorial Parks is home to America's most important landmarks. The Mall stretches for more than two miles, from the U.S. Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial, offering expansive lawns and scenic parks where visitors can relax and appreciate the monuments. Many of the city's most famous destinations are situated along the Mall, including the Jefferson Memorial, Smithsonian Institution museums, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Washington Monument.
